News September 2009 Solon, Ohio...September 15th 2009 Bardons & Oliver, Hosted the first of two open houses. Invited were Customers, Distributors, Vendors and Business Partners of Bardons & Oliver. Their guests were able to watch the RH-800 “Lean” Rotating Head Cutoff Machine O.D. / I.D Chamfer and cutoff, also demonstrated were the “Lean” capabilities of the machine changing from 6” O.D. material to 4” O.D. material. Vern Fabry the Product Manager for Bar and Tube Cutoff said ”If there was one thing about the RH that visitors walked away with after a machine demo, it had to be the complete machine size adjustment at the push of a button. Short setup times are critical in today's small lot runs. Our Rotating Head Cutoffs provide that and more“ Also in operation was the CTR-656 6-Axis CNC Center Drive Lathe. This cell consists of a B&O CTR-656 6-axis CNC Center Drive Lathe, a Fanuc R2000iB1165F Robot, and a Hexagon Global 7.10.7 Advantage CMM. The robot automatically picks-up raw material from a powered conveyor and loads it into a 6.50" capacity high-speed center drive spindle system. Twin 12-station turrets machine the front end of the work piece while a single 12-station turret machines the back end. After machining, the robot removes the finished part and places it in the CMM for quality certification and SPC documentation. The finished part is removed from the CMM by the robot and placed in a powered output conveyor.
