BARDONS & OLIVER ANNOUNCES THEIR 2nd OPEN HOUSE AN OVERWHELMING SUCCESS

Solon, Ohio...October 6th 2009 Bardons & Oliver, hosted it’s second open house. On display was RH-800 “Lean” Rotating Head Cutoff Machine with robotic 2D part unloading. The addition of the Fanuc 2D robot to the Rotating Head Cutoff Machine gives this system the ability efficiently OD/ID chamfer, cutoff, sort and stack parts.

Brian Lane the Vice President of sales said “It was great timing for us to have an Open House. Turn out exceeded our expectations and it is clear that customers are poised to make capital purchases.  We see many very well run companies that have managed their resources carefully through this period of time.  As we move into the recovery phase, these organizations intend to emerge with new customers and new market share that they did not have a year and a half or two years ago.  Plans are being made right now to make the necessary investment in manufacturing systems and factory automation to meet the needs of these new customers.”

Bardons & Oliver also demonstrated two of their large CNC hydraulic cylinder manufacturing systems.  “We are showing a 3.50” capacity piston rod manufacturing system and a 5.00” capacity hydraulic cylinder tube manufacturing system” according to Tom Van Horne, Sales Engineer for CNC Turning Products.  “These two systems are going to be installed as a pair in a new hydraulic cylinder plant in Europe.  One operator will handle both systems.  They will produce parts as required for the assembly area.”

Both systems included a 2-axis turning center, long tube/bar loader, and finished part unloader.  The turning centers were equipped with 10hp live tooling for installing ports in the cylinder tubes and wrench flats and cross pin holes in the piston rods.  “At the back of each lathe, raw material of up to 26’ and 40’ respectively enters the machine” Van Horne went on to explain.  “Less than 12’ away finished parts exit ready for assembly.  Piston rods from one system, cylinder tubes from the other.  Lean manufacturing at its best.”
