The B&O CNC Piston Rod System converts full-length chrome plated steel bar into finished hydraulic cylinder piston rods in one fully-automatic operation. The Piston Rod systems will handle chrome bar diameters from 0.75" to 6.50" with the typical incoming bars being 24' to 30' in length. The chrome bar can be machined in the soft-case or induction-hardened condition. Hollow-bar (chrome plated tubing) and “nitrobar” are also processed on these systems. Finished rod machining configurations include OD threads on one or both ends, conventional weld preps, friction weld preps, OD grooves, cross-pin holes, wrench flats, manifold porting, and cushion porting. The B&O automatic part unloader will handle finished rod lengths from 6.00" to 28'.
