Experienced Tool Crib Attendant

We are hiring a Tool Crib Attendant for 1st shift for our Contract Machining department. At least 1 year of tooling experience is preferred. Tooling refers to the tools used in CNC machines to make parts (not like hammers or wrenches). We are looking for someone who is dependable, has good critical thinking skills, exceptional organizational skills, likes to learn, and would prefer working for a smaller company (we currently have 50 employees).

If you are a retired machinist and want to get out of the house for a few days a week, this job is for you! We would also hire 2 part time people for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned. Requires walking, standing sitting, push/pull tool cart with possible weights up to 400 lbs.
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
  • Delivers tools or equipment to workers.
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying tools of various sizes and weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing and pulling tool carts with weights possible up to 400 lbs.
  • See the pictures to understand the tooling that you will put together for the machinists to run jobs.

Controls Engineer

Design controls architecture and implement the process into new and existing manufacturing production equipment. Systems will be developed utilizing PLC and CNC controls and will include integrating ancillary equipment into the solution for our customer.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop Ladder Logic for the machine control and utilize Macro programs for machine operation.
  • Specify hardware requirements and components of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication devices.
  • Build and / or Reviews schematics for accuracy prior to the final build of machine.
  • Identify and provide solutions for potential safety issues.
  • Confer with Industrial Equipment Assembler & Wirer to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
  • Start-up and run-off of equipment in house and commission at customer location.
  • Work with Sales Team and customers regarding machine functionality and operation.
  • Provide support to customers over the phone or at their site to trouble shoot and resolve machine software issues.
  • Document and flowchart machine software and troubleshooting procedures

Qualifications:

  • 5 years-experience in controls programming in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Fanuc CNC and Allen Bradley PLC’s
  • Experience in trouble shooting equipment and software issues
  • Knowledgeable in safety regulations and codes
  • Ability to understand CNC and PLC ladder logic

Compensation starting at $80k

Field Service Technicians

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING! Bardons & Oliver is located in Solon, Ohio, near Cleveland.

IMPORTANT! Because Bardons & Oliver builds and services such specialized machines, there will be a learning curve, the chosen candidates will need to be onsite at Bardons & Oliver in Solon, Ohio, Monday-Friday for training. We estimate 3-6 months for training before going out on the road. This is a banner year for B&O as we will have just about every machine we build on the shop floor and this is an excellent time for the right person to learn and be trained.

Bardons & Oliver, the pipe, tube & bar machine tool building experts and a Cleveland-based fixture for 130 years (but we don't act that old), is looking for a self-starter Field Service Technician to join our team. The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction through exceptional service. Travel time is approximately 60%. We work hard to make sure those associates who travel for Bardons & Oliver have work/life balance. Travel is usually on a Monday and Friday - home on the weekends. Occasionally there may be travel on a Sunday.

We build tube, pipe and bar processing machines for customers (we also do contract machining and parts and service). This position will service those machines we have built as well as help with installation of new machines.

Requirements/Job Details:

· Proven field service experience

· Ability to read and interpret various types of blueprints and schematics.

· Diagnose errors, technical problems, and determine proper solutions

· Document processes

· Communicate with technical team and share information across the organization

· Travel 3-4 days per week – possible international travel on occasion

CNC Machinists

We are urgently hiring for Experienced CNC and Manual Machinists for 1st and 2nd shift ($ shift differential).Must have 3+ years of experience. If you have a good head on your shoulders, are reliable, have a great attitude and the ability to be able to think through processes clearly, follow instructions and have problem-solving capabilities, then please apply. Some of the duties include:
  • Close tolerances machining of parts of moderate to high difficulty and weighing up to several thousand pounds.
  • Use of part drawings, routers, setup drawings and instructions for guidance in setting up the fixture elements and installing pre-set tooling.
  • Establish part alignment, datums, and work piece offsets.
  • Monitor the machining processes and measure dimensions with precision gauges.
  • Make tooling and offset adjustments as required to meet part specifications.
  • Work with programmers and other production personnel to refine the CNC program and other supplied information.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in setup and operation of CNC Machines Lathe and/or Mills
  • Ability to read blueprints and understanding drawing features such as GD&T
  • Ability to follow written instructions and procedures
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong math skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Engineering Students - Internship/Co-Op Opportunity

We are seeking Interns/Co-Op participants for Summer 2023 who would like to have a solid, hands-on, get dirty experience in Machining, Engineering and Assembly. Machining

  • Safely load and unload work into a variety of machines
  • Run production job and make necessary offsets
  • Read prints, routers, and inspection forms
  • Inspect work to meet print tolerances
  • Follow set-up sheets to set-up and prove out new jobs

Engineering

  • Enter Engineering change requests (ECR)
  • Learn Inventor modeling software
  • Make changes using Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Finish construction drawings using inventor
  • Data entry in MRP (Epicor) for ECR and parts lists
  • Compare the parts list to the construction for accuracy
  • Make simple machine designs changes base on the machine order
  • Make service manuals.
  • Print construction drawings for assembly and service manuals
  • Document procedures
  • Make 3D models of parts without models
  • Clean up/reorganize engineering vendor library
  • Digitize component lists (keys, bushings, et cetera)

 Assembly

  • Prepare parts for painting
  • Clean and Deburr parts
  • Assist assembly personnel with machine builds
  • Cut ram material.
  • Pull fasteners with the aid of the mechanical drawings
  • Preform fastener torque inspection
  • General Labor task
  • Assist Electrical department with installing machine wiring
  • Aid in the creating and packing of finished machines for shipment
